ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ထမ်းများအနေနှင့် မိမိကိုယ်တိုင်သာမက လူနာများကိုပါ ရောဂါပိုးများကူးစက်ရောဂါများပျံ့နှံ့ခြင်းမှ ကာကွယ်နိုင်ရန် PPE များကိုနေ့စဉ်အသုံးပြုကြရပါတယ်။အခုလို Covid-19 ကပ်ရောဂါပျံနှံ့နေတဲ့အခြေအနေမျိူးမှာတော့ PPE တွေက အရင်ကထက်ပိုပြီးအသုံးပြုလာရပြီး ပိုအရေးကြီးလာပါတယ်။ အခုချိန်မှာ ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ထမ်းများက coronavirus ရောဂါကူးစက်ခံထားရသောလူနာများစွာကိုတွေ့မြင်ကုသနေရသောကြောင့် သူတို့အတွက်လည်း အန္တရာယ်ရှိတဲ့အတွက် လိုအပ်တဲ့ PPE တွေကိုမဖြစ်မနေအသုံးပြုကြရပါတယ်။
များသောအားဖြင့်ဆေးရုံဆေးခန်းတွေမှာ အသုံးပြုတဲ့ PPE တွေကတော့ -
၁။ လက်အိတ်များ (Gloves) – လက်အိတ်တွေကတော့ယေဘုယျအားဖြင့် လူနာတွေနှင့်တိုက်ရိုက်ထိတွေ့မှုတွေကနေ ကာကွယ်ရန်နှင့် ဆေးရည်၊ သွေး၊ ခန္ဓာကိုယ်မှထွက်သောအညစ်အကြေး စသဖြင့် အန္တရာယ်ပစ္စည်းရှိတို့နှင့်ထိတွေ့မှုကိုကာကွယ်ရန် အသုံးပြုကြပါတယ်။ များသောအားဖြင့် ဆေးရုံတွေမှာ အသုံးပြုတဲ့လက်အိတ်တွေက ပိုးသတ်ထားတဲ့တစ်ခါသုံးတွေဖြစ်ပြီး ပြန်လည်လျှော်ဖွပ်အသုံးပြုလို့မရပါဘူး။
၂။ ခါးစည်းများ နှင့်အကာကွယ်ဝတ်စုံများ(Gowns/aprons) – Gowns တွေနှင့် aprons တွေကတော့ ခွဲစိတ်ခန်းဝင်တဲ့အချိန်မျိုး၊ လူနာကြည့်တဲ့အချိန်မျိုးတွေမှာ အသုံးပြုလေ့ရှိပါတယ်။ ရည်ရွယ်ချက်ကတော့ လူနာ၏ကိုယ်ခန္ဓာမှထွက်တဲ့အန္တရာယ်တဲ့ပစ္စည်းတွေနှင့် တိုက်ရိုက်ထိတွေ့မှုကို ကာကွယ်နိုင်ရန်ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
၃။ ပါးစပ်နှာခေါင်းစည်းများ(Masks)– Mask တွေကိုတော့ လူနာများထံမှသလိပ်အမှုန်အမွှားများနှင့် အသက်ရှူလမ်းကြောင်းဆိုင်ရာ ရောဂါများကူးစက်ခြင်းမှကာကွယ်ရန်အသုံးပြုကြပါတယ်။
၄။ အသက်ရှုမျက်နှာဖုံးများ(Respirators) – N-95 လိုမျိုး Respirators တွေကိုတော့ အခုဖြစ်ပေါ်နေတဲ့ Coronavirus လိုမျိုးလေမှတစ်ဆင့်ကူးစက်နိုင်သောရောဂါများမှ ကာကွယ်နိုင်ရန်အသုံးပြုကြပါတယ်။ Respirators တွေကတော့ သာမန်တစ်ခါသုံး Mask တွေထက် ဈေးလည်းများပြီး ရောဂါကာကွယ်နိုင်မှုကလည်း ပိုမြင့်ပါပြီး ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ထမ်းတွေသာ အသုံးပြုကြတာများပါတယ်။
၅။ မျက်မှန်များ(Goggles) – မျက်မှန်တွေကိုတော့မျက်လုံးနှင့်မျက်လုံးနားတစ်ဝိုက်ကို ကာကွယ်ဖို့အတွက် အသုံးပြုကြပါတယ်။
၆။ မျက်နှာအကာအကွယ်များ(Face shields) – Face shields တွေကိုတော့ မျက်လုံး၊နှာခေါင်း၊ပါးစပ်စသဖြင့် မျက်နှာတစ်ခုလုံးကိုကာကွယ်နိုင်ရန်သုံးပါတယ်။ မျက်နှာတစ်ခုလုံးကိုကာကွယ်ရန် သုံးနိုင်တယ်ဆိုပေမဲ့လည်း Coronavirus ရောဂါပိုး ကူးစက်မှုကိုကာကွယ်ပေးရန်တော့ Face shields တစ်ခုတည်းကမလုံလောက်ပါဘူး။

Health workers need to use PPEs on a daily basis to protect themselves and their patients from the spread of infectious diseases. During the Covid-19 pandemic, PPEs are becoming more and more important and widely used. Health workers are now seeing and treating many patients infected with the coronavirus, so it is imperative for them to use the necessary PPEs.
The most common PPEs used in hospitals and clinics are –
1. Gloves – Gloves are generally used to protect direct contact with the patients and harmful substances such as body waste. Most of the gloves used in hospitals and healthcare centers are sterile disposable and cannot be washed. 2. Gowns/Aprons – Gowns and Aprons are often used during surgeries and patient visits. The purpose is to prevent direct contact with the secretions from the patient's body. 3. Masks – Masks protect healthy individuals by preventing them from breathing in saliva droplets of an infected person. 4. Respirators – Respirators, such as the N-95, are used to protect against airborne infections like Coronavirus. Respirators are more expensive than conventional disposable masks, have higher immunity, and are mainly used only by health workers. 5. Goggles – Goggles are used to protect the eyes and around the eyes. 6. Face Shields – Face shields are used to protect the entire face, including the eyes, nose, and mouth. Although it can be used to protect the entire face, face shields alone are not enough to prevent Coronavirus infection.
