When it comes to disposable plastic, the first things that come to mind are single-used plastic bags and plastic water bottles. But not everyone has awareness of the side effects of disposable single-use plastics.
In the years of 1900, before the era of plastic, people used to use an enormous amount of paper bags in their daily lives. As the paper comes from cutting trees, many trees and forests were destroyed. Hence, plastics were purposely invented as they are comfortable, long-lasting, rain and air resistance, and easy to use. Since then, single used plastics have become one of the main dominant factors in our daily lives.
On average, it is said that the length of the usage of single-use plastics is only 25 minutes long. Yet, those single-use plastics take about a hundred years to decompose. These facts are not new yet if we continue to live with these truths, we may not have big problems now but in the future, situations can be worse.
Therefore, RecyGlo will weekly post about disposable single-use plastics every Thursday as part of the Plastic Waste Awareness Campaign.

တစ်ခါသုံး ပလတ်စတစ်ပြောလိုက်တာနဲ့ အရင်ဆုံးတွေးမိတာကတော့ နေ့စဥ်သုံး ကျွတ်ကျွတ်အိတ်တွေနဲ့ ပလတ်စတစ်ရေဘူး တွေပါဘဲ။ ဒါပေမယ့် အဲ့ဒီ တစ်ခါသုံးပလတ်စတစ်တွေရဲ့ နောက်ဆက်တွဲအကျိူးတွေကိုတော့ လူတိုင်းက အလေးပေး သတိမထားမိကြပါဘူး။
လွန်ခဲ့တဲ့ ၁၉ရာစုလောက်က ပလတ်စတစ်အိတ်များ မပေါ်ချိန်မှာ စက္ကူအိတ်တွေကို သုံးစွဲကြတယ်။ စက္ကူတွေအများအပြားအသုံးပြုရတော့ သစ်တော သစ်ပင်တွေအများအပြားဆုံးရှုံးရတယ်။ သစ်တော သစ်ပင် ဆုံးရှုံးမှုတွေများပြားလွန်း၍ သစ်တောသဘာဝ မပျက်စီးအောင်, မိုးဒဏ် လေဒဏ်ခံ နေရာတကာပေါ့ပေါ့ပါးပါးနဲ့ အချိန်အကြာကြီးထိ သုံးဆွဲလို့ရမယ်ဆိုတဲ့ ရည်ရွယ်ချက်နဲ့ ပလပ်စတစ်ကို စတင်တီထွင်ရခြင်းဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ထိုစဉ်ကတည်းက နေ့စဉ်ဘဝမှာ တစ်ခါသုံးပလတ်စတစ်များက လွှမ်မိုးလာပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် မိမိစွန့်ပစ်လိုက်တဲ့ ပလတ်စတစ်များက ကမ္ဘာလောကကြီးအပေါ် ဆိုးကျိူးအများကြီးရှိမယ်ဆိုတာ သတိမထားမိသလို မစူးစမ်းမိကြဘူး။
တနေ့လျှင် ပျမ်းမျှအားဖြင့် ပလတ်စတစ် အသုံးပြုမှုကြာချိန်မှာ ၂၅မိနစ်ခန့်သာရှိတယ်လို့ သိပ္ပံအချက်အလက်ဒေတာများအရ သိထားရပါတယ်။ ဒီတခဏတာအတွင်း
