တစ်ချို့လူတွေက Biodegradable plastics နဲ့ Bio-based plastics ကို တူညီတယ်လို့ အထင်မှားလေ့ရှိကြပါတယ်။ အဲ့ဒီ ပလတ်စတစ်အမျိူးအစားတွေက တူသယောင်ရှိတယ်လို့ ထင်ရပေမယ့် တကယ်တော့ သူတို့ရဲ့အဓိပ္ပာယ်ဖွင့်ဆိုချက်ကတော့ ကွာခြားပါတယ်။
ယေဘူယျအားဖြင့်ပြောရမယ်ဆိုရင် Bio-based plasticsတွေဟာ အပင်တွေကနေ ဆင်းသက်လာတဲ့ ပလတ်စတစ်များဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ယင်းပလတ်စတစ်တွေကို ရေနံနဲ့ပြုလုပ်မယ့်အစား ပြောင်းဖူး၊ ကြံ၊ ဟင်းသီးဟင်းရွက်ဆီများအပြင် အခြားသော ဇီဝအခြေခံသက်မဲ့ပစ္စည်းတွေနဲ့ ထုတ်လုပ်ထားတာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
ဇီဝအခြေခံထုတ်ကုန်တွေနဲ့ပြုလုပ်ထားတဲ့ Bio-based products တွေဟာ ပလတ်စတစ်ညစ်ညမ်းမှု ပြဿနာတွေကို ဖြေရှင်းဖို့ရန်အတွက် ပိုမိုကောင်းမွန်တဲ့နည်းလမ်းတစ်ခုပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမဲ့လည်း ရေနံကနေထုတ်ထားတဲ့ ပလတ်စတစ်တွေကို Bioplastics နဲ့ အစားထိုးသုံးမယ်ဆိုရင် စိုက်ပျိုးရေးအရင်းအမြစ်တွေဖြစ်တဲ့ ပြောင်းဖူးနဲ့ ကြံတွေအပြင် အခြားသောသဘာဝအရင်းအမြစ်တွေကိုလည်း ဝယ်လိုအားများရင် များသလို များများထုတ်ပေးရပါလိမ့်မယ်။ ဒါကြောင့် အဓိကပြဿနာအနေနဲ့ စိုက်ပျိုးရေးအရင်းအမြစ်တွေနဲံ သဘာဝအပင်အရင်းအမြစ်တွေရှားပါးခြင်းများ ဖြစ်လာနိုင်ပါတယ်။
ဒါ့အပြင် Bio-based plastics တွေဟာ ရာနှုန်းပြည့်ပျက်စီးယိုယွင်းသွားခြင်းမရှိသလို ရာနှုန်းပြည့်ရေရှည်တည်တံ့နိုင်မှုလည်း မရှိနိုင်ကြောင်း သိရှိထားရပါတယ်။ Bio-based plastics တွေမှာလည်း အားနည်းချက်အနည်းငယ်တော့ ရှိပါတယ်။ Polylactic acid (PLA) လို့ခေါ်တဲ့ Bio-based plastics အမျိူးအစားကို ပြောင်းဖူးကနေရတဲ့ ကစီဓာတ်တစ်မျိုးကနေ ထုတ်လုပ်ထားခြင်းဖြစ်ပြီး လေ့လာမှုတစ်ခုအရ ၎င်းကနေ ဓာတုပစ္စည်း ၇၁ % ထုတ်လုပ်ပေးတယ်လို့ သိရပါတယ်။
ဒါကြောင့် အဲ့ဒီပလတ်စတစ်အမျိုးအစားတွေနဲ့ပတ်သက်ပြီး ကျွန်တော်တို့ လုပ်နိုင်တာဘာရှိလဲ?

ဒါမှမဟုတ် Environment sustainable ဖြစ်တဲ့ Bio-based plastics တွေ၊ Bio-degradable plastics တွေကိုပဲ ဆက်သုံးသင့်သလား? ဆိုပြီး မေးခွန်းထုတ်စရာဖြစ်လာပါပြီ။
ကျွန်တော်တို့အားပေးချင်တာကတော့ ပလတ်စတစ်ကနေ အမြတ်ထုတ်သုံးခြင်းကို လျှော့ချဖို့ အသုံးပြုပြီးသား ပလတ်စတစ်ကို ပြန်လည်အသုံးပြုရန် နှင့် တတ်နိုင်သမျှပြန်လည် အသုံးချရန်တိုက်တွန်းချင်ပါတယ်ခင်ဗျာ။
Bio-based plastics/ Bioplastics
Many people misinterpret bio-plastics with biodegradable plastics, the term sounds familiar but their meaning is way different.
Bio-based plastics, generally speaking, are plastics derived from plants. They are made from corn starch, sugar cane vegetable fats and oil, and other bio-based materials instead of Petroleum.
Bio-based products are one of a kind better approach to the solution of plastic pollution, but in order to substitute Petroleum-based plastics with bioplastics, we will have to exploit many agricultural resources such as corn, sugar cane, and so on according to the public demand. The main problem can be the scarcity of natural plants and resources.
It is also said that not bio-based plastics are degradable and one hundred percent sustainable, of course, there can be some drawbacks of bioplastics. Polylactic acid (PLA) is a kind of plastics made of corn, and according to a study, apparently, 71% of it releases chemicals.
So, what can we do?
Shall we keep using the regular plastics or shall we convert using so-called sustainable bioplastics and biodegradable plastic?
Well, we would encourage to reduce exploiting from the plastics, and to keep reusing the used plastics, and to recycle it as much as possible.
